The Computer Forensics Institute, Nigeria (CFIN) in collaboration with other major stakeholders is pleased to announce:

THE FIRST WEST AFRICAN DIGITAL AND COMPUTER FORENSICS CONFERENCE

VENUE: ABUJA, FEDERAL CAPITAL TERRITORY, NIGERIA

DATE: Wednesday - Friday, 18th – 20th April, 2012
(Arrival and Registration: Wednesday, 18th April, 2012, 3pm-6pm)

Digital and Computer forensics is the science of detection and investigation of crime committed on computers, computer networks, the internet and other digital devices with the intent of giving digital evidence in litigation. In this era of cybercrime and cyber warfare, a society where digital crime is limited solely by the criminal’s imagination is an unhealthy one. This sort of dangerous scenario must be controlled. It is estimated that over 75 percent of all criminal cases today have one form of digital evidence or the other.

This Digital Forensics Conference, therefore, is expected to cover all aspects of cybersecurity, digital forensics, electronic evidence collection, analysis, presentation and crime scene documentation. Rich contents and depth are expected from each presentation. Hence, we have assembled the best speakers in various areas of forensics to meet your needs at the conference.

Some of the topics selected for the conference include:

  • Equipping Law-enforcement Agents for the challenges of Cybercrime, Terrorism and Cyberwarfare
  • Nigeria’s new Evidence Act, 2011 and the Challenges of Electronic Evidence.
  • Securing the Cashless Society through Digital Forensics: A Case Study of CBN Initiative
