As President of Computer Forensics Institute, Nigeria (CFIN), I say, "Congratulations to all Nigerians and to the Digital & Computer Forensics professionals in Nigeria."  At last, digital and computer forensic evidence is now admissible in the courts of our land.  There is still hope for this country with the signing into law so quickly into the life of this administration.  To Senator Sola Akinyede and his committee and the National Assembly, we say "thank you" for working tirelessly to push through the amendment to the then 68 years old Act. We also thank President Goodluck Jonathan for his swift action on this new Evidence Act.  To the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, we say: "Thank you for a job well done." We are witnessing the dawn of a new era in Nigeria's legal and judicial systems.

Dr. Peter O. Olayiwola
President, CFIN
